And I guess the portrayals of Hillary in the past and last Saturday were also sexist, eh?

It's only sexist when you can say it is and have all of your trained monkeys believe it.

I agree with you mrmustard, this is so ridiculous! It seems like anything that ANYONE has to say negatively about Palin is automatically sexist! That just goes to show that the gender card is the only card the McCain camp has to play. I didn't even know that a woman can be sexist when referring to another woman! And this silliness isn't going to stop anytime soon. They're just upset that it was an ACCURATE portrayal of Palin, as well as a fair look at Clinton and it was funny! I laughed till I almost cried!! LOL.. Unfortunately, the real situation is more sad and scary than funny.

Who cares - Its SNL and its supposed to be a joke!!! Lighten up - make fun of all the Washington losers you want - the Dems, Repubs, Indepedents, males, females, white, black, green, pink - who cares! They're all in WA to serve their own self interest - not the interest of the people. They could care less about us (except that we pay our taxes and vote them back in to steal more of our money) so why should we care about them. Mock them, loathe them, point and laugh - we voted these clowns into office although there wasn't much of a choice - they all suck...

When a male comedian satirizes a male politician, no politician calls that sexist.

But when a female comedienne satirizes a femail politician, the McCain camp calls that sexist.

And that, in itself, is clearly and obviously sexism. Pot, kettle, black.

Why does the McCain camp cry foul over anything said (or they imagine was said) about Gov. Palin. Excuse me, but these guys have pulled the ultimate sexist trick: "The Old Used Car Lot" trick. Can't sell any cars, bring in a pretty girl. Yeah get yourself a spokesmodel to talk up your deal! And you know what, the spokesmodel doesn't mind. she's loving it. it's her audition sort of, for bigger things (uh-huh, the whitehouse oval office stage).

Couldn't agree more !! It's so republican to once again attempt to hide behind the worn out "sexism" line rather then acknowledge the humor and perhaps admit that in all humor there is a good degree of truth. They need to hide this premadonna ???

Sarah, we know Hillary, and you're no Hillary!! (i call dibs on that one in case Joe wants to use it!!)

Is it sexist to call McCain a whiny little bitch? They've propped up this robot called Palin with a teleprompter and some catchphrases, then when she opens her mouth off-script she can't describe her views on the Bush doctrine. Granted, most of the people shooting moose up there in Alaska don't know what the Bush doctrine is either, but if you're running to be one step away from leader of the free world you need to know that stuff!!

      Totally agree with you Netprophet.

And I thought Carly Fiorina had some brains than to pull this stupid irrelevant "sexist" card. No wonder she had to leave her plum CEO job at Hewlett-Packard! If that's the "strategy" she uses to distract voters, to make up a great fuss about a funny program like SNL which satires everyone, her strategic management capabilities are wanting! Perhaps she, once a truly skillful business leader, became dumb since she started associating with the dumb liar that is the GOP nominee.

As for the "pre-programmed robot" on the VP slot of the GOP ticket, she shrills about "changing" policies: national security, foregn relations (ref:"...and THAT'S the beauty of the democratic process CHARLIE..., we can fix what is not working now..blah blah blah...") And she doesn't know, doesn't have an inkling of WHAT they have to CHANGE!!! The only "change" McLiar & MoosseBurgher Palin can bring about is putting lipstic on all the pitbulls around and expecting them to transcend into hockey Moms!

I agree. Pretty soon no one, not even their most gullible supporters, will believe anything that the McCain camp has to say because it is just too absurd. They're continually calling anything that has to do with criticism against Palin 'sexist'! And pretending to be offended by it.. Who are they fooling? As women, we should want to be treated as equals, and that includes not expecting special or soft treatment by those in the media or entertainment industry. Personally, I think the McCain camp is trying to make women in America feel insulted at the 'sexist assaults' against Palin, and give her a pity vote.. But women are not stupid McCain, so just STOP playing the gender card already! It is so old, and no one is buying it.

I ALSO AGREE THAT JOHN MCCAIN IS BEING PETTY..HE DIDN'T SEEM TO MIND THE HILLARY BASHING IN THE PRIMARY..OR THE GARBAGE THAT WAS DREDGED UP ON OBAMA WHEN HE FIRST CAME OUT..FAIR IS FAIR..YOU RUN FOR PUBLIC OFFICE THEN YOU SIGN UP FOR SCRUTINY..SORRY SARAH..THAT'S THE WAY IT IS..

Why is it sexist to ask about someone's qualifications? As women we need to be very careful about screaming sexism at every turn. The campaign that coined "hottest chick from coolest state"finding sexism even in comedy. Maybe they should look at the way that the are selling Mrs. Palin to the American people and reconsider their definition of sexist. She might be a smart and interesting person, but the American people will never get a chance to know that, because they continue to write her speeches and shield her from the big bad media. Anyone wanting to be in politics should be able to handle the media. Give us more of the vice presidential candidate and less of the spin.

Marcia, I agree with you to a point. They are shielding Palin, but I think the reason they are doing so as well as writing all of her speeches is because Palin does not have anything in her head to offer the American public besides interesting stories about her life in Alaska and her family. That would be all well and good if she were a celebrity, as Lindsay said, but as a VP candidate it just isn't enough. The public needs to know where she stands on the issues, but sadly she does not yet have a proper grasp of the issues. She herself admitted that she had no clue what the VP position was all about and that she knew very little about the Iraq war because she was so preoccupied with watching snowmobile races in Alaska. So the truth is, that the McCain camp is afraid that everyone will find out the truth - that Palin was, and is a horrible choice, and that she was chosen only as a political gimmick to win an election, and NOT in the best interest of the American people - which people, by the way, already know, and it is becoming even more abundantly clear everyday. If anyone is being sexist in this election, it is McCain and his camp who are willing to exploit a woman (with her permission of course, since she's obsessed with power and really doesn't care about women's rights, and/or their progress in this country.. To me she's like a man with ovaries) for their own political gain. Now That's Sexist McCain!!!

I have also dreamed that dream and there would be NO contest !! However that would only be a move to get elected, such as McShame has done, although there is NO comparison of Palin to Clinton. I do give Obama loads of credit for picking the best person for the job and sticking to the ISSUES rather then dangling the shiny object in front of the simple minded "American" republican voter of which there are way way too many !!!

The McPalins' crying sexism....first it was the lip stick on a pig...another attempt to divert the attention on the real issue-the ECONOMY. With the collapse of some of our big financial institutions, it just a sign of our times-Obama was the first to talk about change,,McPalins now advocate themselves as the party of change and reform..they can try to detach themselves from President Bush and the Republican...it won't work..you can advocate change and reform but its still the Republican Party..you can put lipstick on a pig...but its still a pig...Don't forget MCFlurry..."the fundamentals of our economy are strong"--out of touch with reality....

No and I think it is about time we start worrying about the issues. The McCain camp seems to have a short sighted view of what is important. I don't care about lipstick on pigs, and I sure think it is sad when Palin herself saw it as humor but McCain's camp has to resort too high school antics. SNL has always poked fun at everything, and thats ok. When we laugh at ourselves all the rest of the cuts and barbs don't seem so bad. Lighten up McCain camp. Lets get on with the important stuff. I am sure Ms Palin can take it if she can't then don't play.

I guess it's a sign of the times, just badmouth your opponent when you have nothing to bring to the post you're seeking. It's "swift boat" tactics all over again! It is laughable how the accusers of people being whiners have become the nation's loudest whiners. C'mon!!! Give me a break!!! When the Republicans ridiculed Hillary Clinton where was their sexist creedo? The Republicans have become masters at double-speak and double-standards. I thank God that the American public is finally starting to catch on. I used to respect McCain. The Straight Talk Express has become the Double Speak Train Wreck. John, after what you suffered through at the hands of GWB during the 2000 campaign, you should be ashamed of yourself lowering to the same gutter. You all feel free to sling the mud and then cry or, more often, lie when you are faced with facts.

Listen up people. You can either accept the facts as they are or choose your lies as facts because you can't face up to them.

I can't wait for the next Fey/Palin routine. Oh...wait...that would require freedom of speech wouldn't it?

I totally agree Ken. And whats this about Cindy McCain saying that the women on the view "they picked our bones clean"? Does Cindy actually expect that her husband should be allowed to say anything, including blatantly LIE to the American people, and the media should not call him out on those lies?? That's the job of the media Cindy!! Or would you want that job changed if your husband is elected? The McCain team jump all over Obama for any and everything, including things he did not say, but they actually expect McCain to be off-limits to the media even when what he says is proven to be total lies..? What a double-standard!! The worst part is that MaCain keeps repeating the same old lies about Obama, Palin's so-called background as a 'reformer' etc. If I keep saying the world is flat, does that make it true? I'm thankful that the women of the view asked the questions most of America wanted to know, and didn't allow McCain to get away with any of his nonsense. Enough is Enough!!!

The satire was hilarious, but what is not funny is that no one is discussing that it took Sharah Palin 6 colleges in 5 years to get a bachelors's degree, and that none of those schools had entrance requirements. But, somehow, she is qualfied to be President of the United States. I guess you need a degree to manage Walmart, but barley a degree to be President.

In 1957 McCain entered the Naval Academy. His father and paternal grandfather both became four-star United States Navy admirals and Naval Academy graduates". McCain graduated nearly last in his class (894 of 899).

---Elitist Privilege got him in the Naval Academy. It is very likely if not for his family lineage McCain standing would have been even worse and possibly even kicked out of the Academy. He definitely would not have been admitted to flight school --He should have been assigned to be head janitor on a ship---

I doubt she's that fragile.. isn't she supposed to be a pit-bull.. or a barracuda or something like that? The truth is, they're milking her for all the sympathy votes they can get, trying to make her into some kind of victim of the big bad media.. or even better make it look like Obama attacked her.. which he NEVER DID!! He even defended her and her family and religion several times. Because he's too smart to fall into their trap, they have to twist his words and pretend to be insulted. Now they're turning on the media again.. McCain and his camp are so transparent it sickens me.. especially as a woman who has experienced real sexism. It's insulting and dangerous to cry sexism at everything!! Perhaps the most disturbing fact about the McCain campaign so far is that they seem to actually believe that we are that dumb. They're not getting off that easy. If they pull the Sexism Card, then Obama pulls the Race Card every time anything gets said, it will be a much quieter campaign cuz no one will be able to say anything -- except maybe FINALLY talk about some real issues! Jeez, the election is just months away and we are wasting our time wondering if Sarah's feelings got hurt. What are her qualifications? Where does she stand on the issues? The Republican Party is going to have to let her speak her own words and stop carefully scripting her statements. Rush Limbaugh refers to successful women as Femi Nazi's. Well why is he treating her with kid gloves. The Republicans took over the White House with a budget surplus in the trillions, and now it is trillions in deficit. This war is sucking the country dry, yet both Palin and McCain are so out of touch that they are warning us about future wars. Who is going to fight them? Who is going to pay for them. With our largest lending institutions going paws up overnight, why is McCain stating that we are fundamentally strong. Who are these idiots and how do we get rid of them? My wife and I have discussed it. Neither of my two boys are going to fight a profiteers war! If they need to go to Canada then so be it!

How about Amy's Hillary line in that sketch, "Hey fellows, if you can't grow a pair, I'll lend you mine." Are Republicans protesting that?
Republicans would rather haggle about Saturday night, than talk about the economic news of the last three days. They are being disrespectful towards, Sarah. Off with their heads. Was she nominated for queen or goddess?
Question: "With all due respect, Mrs. Palin, what is your plan for getting us out of the economic mess we're in?

Steve: First good laugh I've had all day! Thanks. OMG what is it going to be next. Obviously no one involved with the McShame campaign has ever watched SNL. For crying out loud, since its inception, they have been going after everyone. Maybe they are protesting because some of the polls show that Palin's popularity is starting to wane and they need to divert away from that.

AMEN to that. I was just as shocked to learn it took her that long to acquire her Bachelor's Degree.

After the news today regarding the economy my level of fear grew to mammoth proportions. Can you imagine this know nothing making decisions on the Global Economy....because our economy does and will have repercussions throughout the world.

The only reason Palin was picked was to get the conservative camp behind McCain because they were not in his camp. Palin's abortion view was important. That is the only reason--it is pure political theatrics without any concern for the welfare of the people of the United States.

My post here has nothing to do with abortion--I do not wish to go into this issue here. Suffice it to say it is a serious issue, but it is only one issue among many, how about Healthcare for Americans, how about this horrific economy, how about America's disastrous pro Israel foreign policy, and the Hell with everyone else.

McCain and Joe Lieberman are joined at the hip, believe me if McCain wins we will be in Iraq forever, also we will be in Iran, and we will be at war with Russia in no time. Let Israel fight it's own wars, it is high time for the USA to take care of business at home and stop getting involved in the affairs of the Middle East.

Also people like Joe Lieberman who hold dual citizenship, he is a citizen of Israel, should not be allowed to hold political office in the United States!!!!!!!!!!!!! Might there not be a conflict of interest here? It is high time the USA end it's disastrous alliance with Israel, send the Israeli Lobby packing out of DC, enact laws to prohibit people who hold dual citizenship from holding political office as well as positions of intelligence and financial office pertinent to the government of the USA.

And once and for all to start taking care of the problems of the American people.

              Amen to your views Steve.
It was shameful the way Lieberman conducted at the GOP convention. If he loves this country so much as he claims, how can he shamlessly support his "friend" Mccain's shotgun coice for the second most important job of the nation? Don't these people (like Joe L ) have one iota of objective honest judgments in them? Can't he see that his old pal wants to win at any cost and doesn't care a rat's a-- about this country? And he had the gall to ask the democrats to cross party lines and vote for this old joke!

No--I really must disagree about being sexist. It was satirical just as SNL does with all politicians. In 2000 the satire was about Bill Clinton and his folly's--was that being sexist about Monica? Nothing but Satire!

Please keep up the whining though--as it shows real character!
